TORONTO, ON, May 5, 2016 - Redwood Classics Apparel (PPPC# 20100301 & ASI# 81627) has pledged its commitment to support all those affected by the recent catastrophic Fort McMurray wildfire, which has triggered the largest fire-related evacuation in Alberta’s history. Due to high temperatures and wind, the situation has the potential to become more serious.
The program, dubbed RW X #YMM, is reaching out to current and potential distributors to give back to the country that's given us so much by placing an order in the month of May 2016. “This fire causes more and more devastation every day,” SAID KATHY CHENG, PRESIDENT OF REDWOOD CLASSICS. “We're going to do whatever we can to help our friends in Fort McMurray and are encouraging our network to join us by doing the same."
From May 5 to May 31, 2016, the company will donate $1 from each item sold from its 16 oz and 20 oz fleece collection to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Appeal. The Red Cross has a network of highly-trained volunteers supporting registration, family re-unification, assisting in shelters in Edmonton and Lac La Biche, as well as providing accommodation and basic necessities like food and water. Specially trained volunteers are providing care and comfort to those who have suffered emotional trauma.
