CHICAGO, IL –Kathy Cheng, our fearless leader and champion of North American manufacturing, has been selected as the recipient of the ASI Counselor 2016 Supplier Woman of Distinction Award. The winners, voted by ASI members and editors of ASI's Counselor magazine, recognize outstanding individuals and companies in seven categories. The winners represent the top entrepreneurs, small-business leaders and CEOs in the $21.5 billion advertising specialty industry.
“This business has given our family and extended family of craftspeople so much,” said Kathy Cheng, Founder and President of Redwood Classics Apparel. “Receiving an award like this – alongside our industry’s best and brightest – is incredibly motivating. My team and I will continue to break the glass ceiling and work toward levelling the playing field for women in business.”
Instituted in 1998, when 15 women were recognized with the award, ASI’s Supplier Woman of Distinction Award has since been given to just over 30 women. Presented to a woman who has made a positive mark in the industry through her business acumen and leadership abilities, the award was presented to Kathy on July 13, 2016 at ASI’s annual awards banquet in Chicago.
